My Story
My passion has always been drawing people!
My background is illustration which I did for 25 years after gaining an illustrators agent at my degree show. I’d trawl round central London with my A1 portfolio showing my work to art directors, this was pre - email, pre - instagram in the mid 1980’s, it was important to meet people and to hopefully make an impression.
I gained commissions from many major advertising agencies, publishers and magazines.
Clients included: Virgin Atlantic, Boots, Durex, Penguin books, Macmillan books, Arrow books, Hodder and Stoughton, Woolworths, Oxford University Press, Rimmell make up, Anstatt Airlines, The Telegraph newspaper, Marie Clare magazine, Womans Own, Bella magazine, ‘Shoot that Tiger’ records, I absolutely loved it, it was a fantastic time to be an illustrator.
Life drawing was always there, I enjoyed the spontaneity and the thrill of capturing the essence of drawing somebody from life. What an honour! What a joy!
For the last thirteen years I’ve gone full circle and facilitate my own life drawing and portraiture classes in various venues on the south coast of the UK, what a great way to make a living!
I teach life drawing and Portraiture @ West Hove Art studio, for more information click here.
I teach themed clothed sessions @ Alcampo Lounge Brighton and The Regency Town House, Hove all superb venues.
Now in it’s seventh year, I have facilitated and organised with a colleague, drawing holidays on a small Greek island called Kalymnos, called Portraits in Paradise, click here for details of this year’s holiday.
